Shrub or treelet 2-3.5 m. Coffea liaudii is rather similar to C. sakarahae in its small leaves, and in having domatia that are not always located in the axils of the secondary veins, as in the majority of coffea species. These two species are also different by their habitat. Coffea liaudii occurs in humid, evergreen forest in central eastern Madagascar, and C. sakarahae occurs in either seasonally dry deciduous woodland or seasonally dry evergreen woodland in south western madagascar. Fruits asymmetric, slightly bilobed, 8 - 9 x 4.5 - 6.2 mm, puberulous to glabrous, pedicellate. |
