Habit dependent on the development setting, forest, forest edge or clearing. Very coriaceous leaves, with extra-axillary domatia, small with hairless circular opening. Small fruits, thin pericarp, smooth, tender mesocarp, light and sweet juicy. No seed dormancy. Not productive in the forest, not flowering in open areas. Fertile under medium shade. at Ambohidrahy, blooms during the winter dry season (August to October) and bears fruit in February-March. |
