Small tree single-stemmed (5-7 m high); bark smooth, grey to grey-brown. Branchlets often peeling, grey to brown, glabrous; seasonal shoot green–brown, pubescent (densely covered ), leaves and fruits pubescent -
leaf acuminate, acumen 0.4–0.8 cm long, petiole 5.8–11.6 mm long, pubescent (rather densely covered); domatia obscured by the hairs of the midrib and secondary veins, located in the axils of the secondary veins, against the midrib, and in the main branching points of the secondary veins near the midrib (extra-axillary). fruits pubescent, pedicellate. Not confound with C. decaryana (long cycle fructification), Calyculi pubescent (densely covered), petiole c. 0.2 mm long. Fruit sub-globose, distinctly laterally compressed, 0.7–0.8 X 0.9–1 cm, distinctly bilobed (didymous) and often rather angular, pubescent (sparsely covered); pedicel 0.5–2 mm long; calyx limb manifest but short. |
